Marital Planning

Arizona is a community property state. 

Absent premarital planning, your future spouse will have an undivided one-half interest in your salary or retirement plan earnings during marriage. 

 

Title does always not control. 

Even if a bank account or deed has only your name on it, a divorce court can reach in to give your ex-spouse a share if the property is found to belong to the “community.” 

 

Avoid conflict.
